Where the value is, right now
The best-value deals on Malta at any given time tend to cluster around the shoulder seasons — late spring and autumn — and around the quiet winter months. Our guide to the best time to visit has the full seasonal breakdown. If you are flexible, a midweek departure in May or September will almost always outperform a Saturday in July. If you are not flexible, all-inclusive bases in Mellieħa and the resort coast at Sliema remain the most reliably priced family options.
Types of deal to look for
Beach deals in the north, built around Mellieħa Bay and Golden Bay, are the most traditional Malta package — see also our best beaches guide. City-break deals are often the sleeper hit — three or four nights in Valletta, Sliema or Mdina in shoulder season can be extraordinary value (see Malta for Couples).
