The all-inclusive holiday is a good fit for Malta for a specific reason: the country is short-haul, the airport is close to every resort, and the hotel estate is weighted towards the north — close to the sandy swimming bays. Once you arrive, you can, in the most literal sense, not leave your resort for a week and still come home saying you have had a lovely holiday. That is not a criticism of Malta; it is a compliment to the format.

What “all-inclusive” covers on a Malta package

An all-inclusive Malta holiday through our partner TripX Ltd typically includes return flights with KM Malta Airlines, your hotel, return transfers, and an all-inclusive board basis covering breakfast, lunch, dinner and a defined drinks menu throughout your stay. Exact inclusions vary by hotel — always check the individual resort’s all-inclusive definition before booking.

Where the resorts are

The all-inclusive inventory is concentrated in a small number of areas. Mellieħa and neighbouring St Paul’s Bay, Qawra and Buggiba hold the largest cluster — big beach-and-pool resorts within walking or bus distance of the sandy bays. St Julian’s has a smaller but more hotel-like concentration, useful if you want dining, bars and the Sliema front as a night-time option. Gozo has a small but excellent all-inclusive presence — different in character from Malta, quieter, and very good for repeat visitors.

Short flight, airport close to every resort, hotel estate weighted towards the best beaches. All-inclusive is simply a good fit for Malta.

Is all-inclusive right for your holiday?

All-inclusive is best suited to family holidays, resort-focused weeks and visitors who want predictable cost with minimum daily admin. It is less ideal for couples who want to eat their way around Valletta, or repeat visitors planning to roam the country end-to-end. A useful middle option is a half-board package in Mellieħa or St Julian’s with two nights in Valletta bolted on — our Where to Stay guide covers the area choice in more depth.
